Final Conference in Dublin!

The second and last international activity of this project was a Transnational Project Meeting that took form of a Final Conference in Dublin, Ireland, 6th – 8th June 2022.

The main results of the project (which you can find here), the activities carried out in each country, as well as the personal and professional experiences of participants and what participating in a European project means for the organisations were presented. A session for exchanging good practices, networking and visibility activities will also be included, as well as a final evaluation of the project among all partners.

The first part of the event consisted of an internal meeting amongst international partners to evaluate the implementation of the project, followed by a visibility event in the facilities of the Core Youth Services, an organisation dedicated to the overall development of at risk youth. We presented the main results of the project (webpage, toolkit, project video and provisional eBook) to a group of youth workers and young people.

We ended the event with the creation of an artistic representation of the project, leaving a mark of the project in the Core Youth Services: “Diversity is an Opportunity”. We leave you here the beautiful result!

Its always best to start locally!

If we want to implement a project that will truly impact and be useful to our target group, is is always importan to first understand the situation and their real learning needs.

Therefore, after our Online Kickoff coordination meeting , every partner organisation started preparing the first phase of local activities to be carried out in each country. The first activity in the agenda was an analysis of the situation of participation of volunteers with fewer opportunities in the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) at 2 levels: society and inclusion, where every partner researched and analysed in depth about legislation, practice, statistics, roles, participation, etc.

Then we moved on the identification of existing good practices at local level where the participation of volunteers with fewer opportunities is used as a tool for promoting their participation in society and peaceful coexistence.

As part of the first phase of local activities, each country also identified and mapped a series of relevant stakeholders at a local level.

Finally, each partner carried out a diagnosis and definition of the specific learning needs of coordinators, mentors and supervisors of volunteers with fewer opportunities in their respective organisations. All the data gathered throughout this local activities I phase, was used to create the material for the International Seminar in Malaga and future activities in the framework of this project.

In some cases, due to COVID-19 restrictions, some of the activities were delayed and/or carried on online (specially the meetings with stakeholders), but all partner countries carried out this entire first phase of local activities successfully!

Defining our Image!

After our Online Kickoff Meeting in November, the first task was to start the implementation of this project was to design the logo, image, and graphic line, in order to give visibility to and to disseminate the different activities of the “Mentoring for Inclusion” project.

As a consortium, we wanted to respect the main concepts of the project which are “inclusion” and “ESC volunteering”. Since blue is commonly known as the color of the European Union and the ERASMUS+ and ESC porgrammes, and yellow the color most representative of inclusion, we decided that these would be the main project colours and that they should be present in the logo.

With this in mind, Iniciativa Internacional Joven, as general coordinator of the project, proposed several versions for the logo. After several attempts we finally arrived at a logo that encapsulates the essence of the project: mentoring volunteers for inclusion!

Here you have the finally result os this effort!

ONLINE KICKOFF MEETING!!

On Fiday 13th November, the five partner organisations held their first Coordination Meeting Online in order to specify strategies, working methodology and details for future activities. This meeting was a video conference and was an essential part of the project as it was the first time all coordinators from each partner country met each other face-to-face.

The main objectives of the meeting were :

  • Planning the phases of local activities, its objectives, contents and methodology;
  • Specify dissemination and visibility activities including logo, webpage, social networks, etc. of the project;
  • Discussing about the tools to measure the impact and to evaluate different phases of the project;
  • Making appropriate internal arrangements.

Among the main results of the meeting, we can underline:

  • Participants/Organisations know the details of the project and its activities;
  • Every participant/organisation can implement the project in the arranged way;
  • Participants/organisations have appropriate internal arrangements;
  • Logo, webpage and social networks have been discussed and participants/organisations know how to exploit it.
